In 2009 and 2010 there was a handicap race called The Rosebud Inglis Bonus held over 1200m at Rosehill. The Rosebud was first run as a Listed race over 1200m at Randwick in 2011 when it was won by Aeronautical and it gave jockey Nathan Berry his first stakes win as a senior rider. The following year it was run at Warwick Farm then it returned to Randwick for the next four years. In 2017 the distance was reduced to 1100m and it was moved to Rosehill, and has stayed at this track and distance.

It is the only black-type race on the program, and is the first lead-up race for the Golden Rose in late September. Only one filly has won the race so far, and that was She’s A Fox who won the 2012 race held at Warwick Farm.

In 2016 a filly named Lasqueti Spirit only beat one runner home in this race and was nearly 11 lengths back from the winner, Thronum, but later in the year she went on to win the VRC Oaks in Melbourne at triple-figure odds in what was one of the most memorable rides of the year.
